Feb25th Marlene Enright

March 4th -Sophie Coyle

Sophie Coyle’s hypnotic voice effortlessly delivers stories carved in her own lore, conjured by her own unique lyrical dynamism. Her songs are charmed with a rare and seductive magic. These dark enchantments have seen her play support for a host of celebrated artists such as legendary Scottish folk singer Dick Gaughan, Mundy, John Spillane, Ger Wolfe, Luka Bloom and Gentry Morris. In 2010 her spine-tingling gothic-folk song, “Delirium” was used in the soundtrack to the Irish/ UK horror film “Spiderhole”. Among other festivals she has played the Electric Picnic, Vantastival, Feile na Bealtaine, Fiddler’s Green. Originally from Galway, she now lives in Dundalk with her husband Jinx Lennon and one year old baby Rose and is releasing her new album “Blame Me For The Storm” on 9th February 2018. The bulk of it was recorded at the Black Mountain Studios in the Cooleys and involved a lot of local Dundalk talent. For the launch tour she is joined by Dundalk friends Caroline Whately (Bass), Sharon McArdle (Keys, harp, accordian) and Conor Taaffe (Drums). Support is from Mark Corcoran and for the Cork date, Fintan Lucy.
