THE LAST BIG FESTIVAL OF 2014, SLIGO LIVE KICKS OFF ON OCTOBER BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND. Ireland’s Folk, Roots & Indie Festival celebrates 10 years of quality music on the Wild Atlantic Way from 22nd – 27th October 2014. This is the festival where you don’t need to get your feet wet!!! With all festival performances in fantastic indoor locations across beautiful Sligo town, event goers will be treated to the full festival experience without ever having to get mud on their boots.
This year’s Sligo Live festival highlights include SHERYL CROW, BELL X1, HORSLIPS, Michael McGoldrick Quartet, O’Hooley & Tidow, Simone Felice and The Barr Brothers amongst others and includes over 80 performances from 300 performers over 6 days.

Enjoy the unique experience of the 3-Stage Festival Club with Festival Club Headliners Rackhouse Pilfer, The Riptide Movement and Renegade Brass Band.
Other highlights include ARRIVALS – a Sligo Live programme strand which introduces emerging artists to a wider audience, Moxie who will support Horslips, Old Hannah who will support Sheryl Crow, Michael Rooney & June McCormack, We Banjo 3+1, NoCrows, Tommy McCarthy & Louise Costello, all day and all night dynamic Trad Sessions, the World famous Fiddler of Dooney Competition and much more.
Festival goers will have the opportunity to enjoy many of Sligo’s year round activities; Beach, Hill and Forest walks, Seaweed baths, Boating, Fishing, Surfing, Sailing, Camping, Golf, Music Archives, all in a beautiful natural environment which makes for the perfect break.
Sligo is a hotbed of music and culture all year round; home to a large community of musicians, writers and artists who enrich the life of the area. Sligo is the spiritual home of Nobel Prizewinning poet, William Butler Yeats and his artist brother Jack who both freely acknowledged Sligo’s profound inspiration in their work, which lives on in its lyrical surroundings.
Easy access from the UK through Ireland West Airport Knock, Belfast and Dublin airports and ferries; so treat yourself to an Autumn break and jump into the middle of Sligo Live featuring great music under every conceivable roof where musicians and audience mingle freely. Ireland West Airport Knock has a convenient network of flights from Stansted, Gatwick, Luton, Bristol, East Midlands, Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow and Birmingham. Knock is only 45 minutes from Sligo and is connected by a regular Bus Eireann service.
