January 1st 2016 sees the release of “Cold November Sunrise”, the first single from the new album scheduled for release in June 2016.
Having established themselves with their “peach of a debut album”, And So It Began…, the London based Dublin band toured with the likes of Magic Numbers, Sinead O’Connor, Damien Dempsey and Paul Heaton before embarking on their own headline tour.
Darren Morrissey’s approach to this single was “to lyrically write a song with John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ in mind. I wanted each verse to cover a different topic – race, religion, politics and all of the other things that are still as much an issue now as they were back then. Cold November Sunrise is about shining bright and rising above it all in dark and dull days!”
‘Imagine the hand of a black man,
Feeling his lovers heart beat.
Holding the chest of a white man,
Out and proud in the street.’
The single will be supported by a number of UK and Ireland shows concluding in a New Years Eve party in London.
