King Kong Company – Scarity Dan

Videos have always been an important part of what King Kong Company do. It was through YouTube that they built the momentum that has seen them secure headline slots at Body&Soul and Electric Picnic. Ahead of the release of the first single, “Scarity Dan” from their self-titled debut album on 31 May, the King Kong crew have put together something special for your ears and eyes here.

During their rampaging campaigns in festival fields, KKC have been lucky enough to work with the very talented gig photographer Tara Thomas. When Tara told the lads that her brother was interested in making a video for the band, there was a little hesitation. This would be the first video to come from outside the King Kong creative camp, but there was no need for concern.

Jamie O’Rourke from Killer Rabbit Productions has captured the dark quirk that runs through KKC. The video for “Scarity Dan” taps in to something that might lurk deep within us all, something dangerous and unspeakable waiting to break loose. But even as the vile vapours bubble to the surface, there’s still room for a little smirk, shuffle and skank.  This is a King Kong Company track we’re dealing with, it’s difficult not to dance, even when there are dastardly deeds afoot.

“Scarity Dan” will be the first single from King Kong Company’s self-titled debut album, available on iTunes and Spotify from 31 May with album released 17 June. While you wait for the single to drop, you can cast your eyes and wrap your ears around it here….
