THE LAST BIG FESTIVAL OF 2016, SLIGO LIVE KICKS OFF THIS BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND. Ireland’s Folk, Roots & Indie Festival celebrates 12 years of quality music on the Wild Atlantic Way from 26th – 31st October 2016. This is the festival where you don’t need to get your feet wet!!! With all festival performances in fantastic indoor locations across beautiful Sligo town, event goers will be treated to the full festival experience without ever having to get mud on their boots.
This year’s SLIGO LIVE festival highlights include RODRIGO Y GABRIELA, PAUL BRADY, THE SAW DOCTORS, LITTLE GREEN CARS, LYNCHED and SARA WATKINS, MAIRTIN O’CONNOR, CATHAL HAYDEN & SEAMIE O’DOWD TRIO with Special guests RANT (4 gorgeous ladies), ORCHID COLLECTIVE, KING KONG COMPANY, CHRIS MEEHAN AND HIS REDNECK FRIENDS, FESTIVAL CLUB, Kieran Quinn, Dylan Foley, So Many Years With The Blues, TRAD SESSIONS, FIDDLER OF DOONEY, ARRIVALS which is a free SLIGO LIVE programme strand that introduces emerging artists to a wider audience and this year’s featured artists include Enda Reilly, Saramai, Aural Air, Nocturnes, Stephen A Murphy, Comrade Hat, Ann Scott, Pine ¶he Pilcrow, Moon Looks On, The Wranglers, Tomorrows, and Etain and much more. Add the dynamic Sligo Sessions, the Arrivals emerging artists’ strand, unique 3-Stage Festival Club, Food Trail, Festival Fringe and Sligo’s stunning setting on the Wild Atlantic Way and you have the perfect place for an autumn break.
The Festival Club is one of the popular highlights of Sligo Live and we strongly urge festivalgoers to purchase tickets in advance to avoid the disappointment of not being admitted on the night. Having listened to the variety of music on offer all day, festivalgoers meet up each night at the Festival Club where they enjoy going from stage to stage with their biggest difficulty being which acts to see next.
SLIGO LIVE FESTIVAL is a great way for festival goers to experience live music throughout the day and night in intimate venues around Sligo over 6 days spanning the SLIGO LIVE Bank Holiday Weekend.
