‘Everything Must Change’ is the first taster to be taken from Paddy Casey’s forthcoming sixth album, which is due for release in spring of 2017.
The single, a lush, uplifting and positive pop song, focuses on the theme of first love, the way you felt when you first experienced that spark of love and how you’re never quite the same again. To that end, the gorgeously produced video, by director Dermot Malone and produced by Matt D’Arcy of Banjoman Films, features 2 young friends and their adventures together.
‘I wanted a video that would show 2 kids, meeting, hitting it off ,running amok and basically having a little adventure. Its a loose interpretation of my first time experience. I really liked Banjoman’s stuff, and called them up, told them roughly what I wanted. They were really into it and they were excited as it was their first ever music video – so we just went for it!’ Paddy explains.
When not touring Paddy is busy mixing his new record, which he thinks is his most interesting album yet. He has been working away on songs, writing and recording for the last couple of years. ‘I think it has some of the strongest songs I’ve written so far. I’ve really tried to let go of the reins on this one and I’ve been trying out lots of new things. There are some electronic vibes with some big orchestral moments and even some stripped back acoustic songs too, harking back to ‘Amen, So Be It’. I’m really excited and I can’t wait for people to hear it.’
