French rock musician Lauren Guillery is thrilled to announce the release of her debut album’s first single LOVE THIS LIFE ahead of her album launch party in DeBarra’s Folk Club, Clonakilty on May 25th 2018. The single is being released in conjunction with a music video that features the artist walking the streets of Cork city and close-ups of her face smudged with make-up. As of May 18th, the track LOVE THIS LIFEcomes as a free download with the pre-order of the album DISASTER IN LA LA LAND on Bandcamp and other digital platforms.
DISASTER IN LA LA LAND (out May 25th, self-release) has been a few years in the making and is comprised of twelve tracks that sway between pop and punk with a slice of blues thrown in. Recorded in two Leinster locations with two different rhythm sections, the album was co-produced by Stephen Shannon (MOUNT ALASKA, STRANDS) at Experimental Audio in Dublin. It features amongst other musicians SPOOK OF THE THIRTHEENTH LOCK drummer Brian O’Higgins and LAND LOVERS bassist Shane Murphy. The first single from the album, LOVE THIS LIFE is a catchy number that recalls 70’s krautrock era with its repetitive drumbeat, and speaks about a woman’s struggle with realising she suffers from depression. A musically fun and thought-out album, DISASTER IN LA LA LAND recounts stories of Guillery’s life in Dublin city where she lived for fifteen years, before moving southwest of Cork.
Originally from France, Lauren Guillery immigrated to Ireland in early 2000 and powered her way through the Dublin open-mic circuit and onto the stages of Ireland’s most prestigious clubs. She was awarded ‘Best International’ at the inaugural BalconyTV music video awards 2007 and self-released the same year her four track EP LISTEN! She toured Ireland opening for Irish post-rock outfit GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT amongst other high profile Irish acts (CATHY DAVEY, JINX LENNON, NINA HYNES). Recent performances include an appearance at CLONAKILTY INTERNATIONAL GUITAR FESTIVAL, and supports to PILLOW QUEENS and American slide-guitar one-man band BOB LOG III.
Dublin 4-piece Heroes in Hiding, an alternative rock band with a vibrant touch of electronics, will release their anticipated album ‘ACTOR’ on Friday 25 May.
The band have just released the video for ‘Berlin’ directed by Ciaran Dooley, produced by Banjoman Films with actor Rob Malone. ‘Berlin’ is the second single taken from their debut full-length LP ACTOR and follows single ‘I Live For You’.
Speaking about the video, Heroes in Hiding say: “The theme of the song explores a want for change and a sense of belonging, or lack there of. The narrator has become fed up with their surroundings, and fantasises about a new life in Berlin. They are convinced that by moving away they will be able to throw off the shackles of their old life and start afresh, leaving the anxious surrounds of their current world behind. The video explores a ‘moment’ of uncertainty in life. A moment where we are cast in total doubt as to whether our actions were right or not; a moment where we have to decide between our future and our past”.
Heroes in Hiding’s ever-evolving, captivating sound and unique live performance is not to be missed. The band have announced an experiential and unique audiovisual show at the Tivoli Theatre on Friday 25 May to launch their debut album ‘ACTOR’. Fans will be excited at this announcement having been blown away by their amazing 360-degree audiovisual show to launch their EP ‘Curtains’ in October 2016.
Heroes in Hiding toured Ireland extensively in 2017, playing unforgettable shows at Electric Picnic, Forbidden Fruit, Castlepalooza, Vantastival and to a sold-out crowd in the Olympia Theatre. The band spent most of the tail end of 2017 in the shadows writing their debut album.
Heroes in Hiding will release their first full-length album on 25 May. Written and produced by Heroes in Hiding, the album explores the idea of authenticity and belonging.
The band also have a busy live touring schedule for 2018 ahead with dates in Dublin, Cavan, Carlow an Offaly announced to date. More shows to be announced very soon.

Following a sold out Irish tour earlier this year, All Tvvins return to Cork for their biggest show to date when they headline a standing show at Cork Opera House on Saturday, October 27th, as part of the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival.
All Tvvins capped a triumphant 2017 by playing to 15,000 people at the 3Arena (2FM Xmas Ball), alongside a Choice Music Prize nomination for their excellent debut album, IIVV. A string of mesmerising singles as seen the band straddle both the commercial and alternative airwaves, while their increasingly mind-blowing live show has seen them fill venues like Dublin’s Olympia with ease.
Along the way, they have toured Europe, played SXSW, shared stages with Arcade Fire, Foals and Pixies; amassed over 10 million spotify streams; and Lar was introduced to The Edge of U2 fame, who was not only “very humble and a really nice dude”, but already knew All Tvvins’ music.
The band are currently working on their follow up album to their debut and are scheduled to release it later in 2018. Whereas they previously painstakingly crafted each song together, they instead found themselves creating almost completed ideas individually before allowing the other partner to put their stamp on it.
Most of the new tracks emerged on piano and synths before being fleshed out into a band dynamic. Inspired by a whole world of influences, Lar describes them as being “varied and extreme” and “emotionally charged”, while Conor notes that his interest in keys means that he has been writing a lot more on piano.
Expect some new tracks at the Opera House show, delivered by one of the most savvy, cutting edge and talented musical duos Ireland has to offer.
Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Paul McCann from Cavan, has been playing in various bands since 1996, including Aine Cahill’s band along with the power pop band The Plan and also the Johnny Cash tribute Get Rhythm. No stranger to the live scene, McCann has performed with Pugwash, The Strypes, Duncan Maitland (Picturehouse) and Nelson Bragg (Brian Wilson Band/Beach Boys), among others.
‘Keep The Devil Within’ is the first single to be taken from McCann’s forthcoming album titled ‘Here Comes The Rapture’ released later this year. An extremely talented musician, McCann plays most of the instrumentation on the album, including – Vocals, Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Electric Bass, Double Bass, Slide Guitar, Piano, Mellotron, Harmonica, Kazoo, and Trumpet!
‘Keep The Devil Within’ is pure pop rock, with an infectious, upbeat chorus and guitar driven hooks throughout. McCann says of the track “It’s about the complications of love and relationships. We don’t always bring out the best in each other and maybe we are better off going our separate ways and burying this love (or keeping the devil within). The concept for the video was conceived by the director Eamon Cahill. It was a lot of fun to shoot, despite spending the best part of a day in a straitjacket”. Keep an eye out for Aine Cahill who also appears in the video.
2015 saw Paul release his highly-acclaimed debut EP ‘The Magician’. Recorded and mixed at JAM Studio’s alongside Martin Quinn’s co-production. Following this, he released ‘Beginning To End’, an EP comprised of home recordings. The result of these two self-produced EPs, reflected a maturity in both writing and technique as McCann delved into new musical territories. McCann has a diverse mix of influences, ranging from The Divine Comedy to Jack White, Johnny Cash to Ash. Keep your eyes peeled for some live Irish shows throughout the coming months.
“McCann has been honing his craft for almost 20 years as a multi-instrumentalist with various different projects and his level of proficiency as a musician shows” – Puremzine
“His style has everything power pop fans could want and more” – Power Popaholic

Release new single & video ‘Gut Feeling’
and announce US tour.
One of Ireland’s best loved and hardest working bands, The Coronas, are set to release their latest single ‘Gut Feeling’, taken from their fifth album Trust The Wire. Trust The Wire was released in June 2017 and went straight to number one in the Irish charts, heralding a new wave of success for the Irish four-piece.
‘Gut Feeling’ reflects a simple message but one which will resonate for most people: to not doubt yourself or overthink things, to go with your gut. ‘As you get older you can doubt yourself in some ways, and sometimes feel the need to give yourself a pep talk,’ says frontman Danny O’Reilly. ‘Myself and Dave went back to basics and wrote this song around a piano with an acoustic guitar. It felt like the right way to write about the simplicity of creating something, and not overthinking it.’
Trust The Wire has already been certified gold and is on the way to a platinum disc, joining the previous four Coronas albums. The band hit the road in support of the album last year performing shows in Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, the United States and even Dubai. A particular highlight was their sold out biggest ever headline show, with 15,000 people joining the party in Kilmainham, Dublin.
The band’s schedule continues to be hectic, with some Irish summer dates in the diary to satisfy their fans at home. These are followed by another tour of North America which will include larger venues than the previous two tours, along with several high-profile music festivals. Already announced are the band’s debut appearances at the eclectic Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago’s Grant Park on Sunday August 5th as well as three nights at the annual Milwaukee Irish Fest, on August 17th, 18th and 19th. The major portion of the tour begins in Calgary, Alberta on September 25th and continues for more than a month of shows in cities all over the United States and Canada. The band then finish off the year with three gigs in Australia.
“It’s been a crazy year but unbelievably enjoyable. We’ve loved it,’ says Danny. And their fans all over the world can only agree.
