Areas to explore…
KnockanStockan have commissioned a collective of artists called Espaço Libellula who will use sacred geometry techniques and String Art to create a NEW main stage at the festival for which the like of has never been seen in Ireland! Stay tuned for the unveiling of the name of this stage!
The oldest of our hand built wooden stages, the Faerie Field is nestled in its own natural amphitheatre surrounded by hawthorn trees, chilled during the day and up for anything after dark, a magical world for musical exploration.
If you’re looking for things to get dark and heavy you’ll more than likely find them at the Dimestore Tent, a staple of the festival for over half a decade, lending itself perfectly to big bands and big sounds.
Woodtown is the creation of Mitch Dunne and her team of wood sculptors. You’ll find freshly made wooden furniture to lounge on, original wooden sculptures and games as well as the Holistic Haven and the wonderful Wishbone stage.
KnockanStockan are excited to have Carlsberg join them in the field this year to collaborate on a new venue space with a Danish twist. The Unfiltered stage will be set with beautiful lake vistas where guests can sit and watch performance art, intimate collaborations, interviews, comedy by day and dance to some of Ireland’s finest DJ collectives play on a stage in the round in the centre of this exciting new venue!
Lovingly put together with carved dowel joints and rods and using some of the surrounding trees as part of the structure the Wishbone Stage gives the impression it was grown rather than built. Expect surprise and delight with everything from poetry and theatre to beatboxing and belly dancing.
The Rasher Factory
Animal Buzz brought a barn last year to KnockanStockan, this year they bring you THE RASHER FACTORY. In a season of festive heresy, this safe space will offer a relentless selection of multi disciplinary artists within a geodesic dome. Savage beasts, untamed by savage tunes.
We’ve got a wonderful program of events to keep the Knockan’sprogs entertained! From Storytelling, Open mic stage for the budding future performers at KnockanStockan.
The Art Trail is one of the visual treats at KnockanStockan, with have an ingenious bunch of creatives bringing imaginative installations to the festival, making exploring this already naturally beautiful festival site transform into the thing of dreams.

“the spread of guitar-based genres Boom Child can run through is impressive. You will rock out, experience an abrupt jazz breakdown without warning, and get whipped by some disco-funk,” – Remy’s Music Blog
“…to sum them up they are crazy, chaotic and fun. Go see them live if you get a chance.” – Outcast Magazine
“Boom Child are really really good” – Musician.ie
Boom Child are a chaotic rock trio from Dublin. Their music is an irreverent mix of punk, funk, and power pop. Their theatrical live show involves audience participation and a dancing cow. called Boomer. They released their debut “The Super Edible EP” in June 2016 on the first 100% edible music format. The single and video “I WANT TO SHIFT YOUR SISTER” was released February 2018.
Irish brothers Alfie and Harry Hudson-Taylor embrace the new year with the release of their brand new single ‘Run With Me’, on Friday 12th January.
‘Run With Me’ is the long-awaited follow up to Irish radio smash ‘Feel It Again’, which was one of the biggest airplay hits of 2017, and has clocked up over 2 million streams so far. Like ‘Feel It Again’, ‘Run With Me’ was produced by Ryan Hadlock, best known for his work with Lumineers and Vance Joy, and mixed in Dublin by Ruadhri Cushnan (Mumford & Son, Ed Sheeran).
Hudson Taylor worked closely with Dogs Trust Ireland on the video for ‘Run With Me’.
Speaking about the video the band said: “’Run With Me’ is about those friends that are by your side at all times and lift you up whatever you’re going through. Dogs are often that exact type of friend for people and we wanted to make a video that was uplifting and fun but also delivered the message that there are so many dogs in shelters and rescues around the country that just need loving homes. We absolutely loved making this video and we hope people not only enjoy watching it but also consider giving a rescue dog a home and having that dog give them their unconditional love and friendship in return.”
Suzie Carley, Executive Director, Dogs Trust, said: “We are thrilled to join up with for the launch of their fantastic new single! Both Alfie and Harry are huge dog lovers so we were delighted to welcome them to our Rehoming Centre recently, where they shot some scenes for their brand new music video and met some of our beautiful furry residents! It’s so important to raise awareness about adopting instead of buying a dog so we were delighted that the boys asked us to be a part of spreading this message through their video. We all had an amazing experience working with Alfie, Harry and their wonderful team – especially our dogs, who couldn’t resist lots of cuddles and kisses in between takes!”
The new release tees up Hudson Taylor’s exciting touring schedule, which will see the duo and their crack band of amazing musicians on the road through until spring time.

As ‘Run With Me’ says….
“We’re all in it for the long run
We’re all in it for life.”
Life in 2018 is looking good for Hudson Taylor, run with them.
Hailing from Dublin, 20-year-old vocalist/producer/multi-instrumentalist EDEN releases his much anticipated EP i think you think too much of me today via Astralwerks. The EP is now available at all digital partners as well as in a variety of exclusive physical packages from EDEN’s store. EDEN premiered the video for his latest track “drugs” yesterday on Pigeons & Planes. “It’s not that I wrote the song about this specific storyline, but the idea that things in your life really only mean as much as you let them connects the visuals with the track and the EP in a powerful way. You can watch the video with an outcome in your mind but things are never quite as simple or straightforward as they seem,” says EDEN.
In the early stages of finding his voice as an artist EDEN, otherwise known as Jonathan Ng, made only one rule for himself, “make something you’d be proud of even if no one ever hears it.” With his new EP, he channels that passion for innovation into a guitar-heavy take on electronic pop and proves himself an artist of uncompromising originality. On ‘I think you think too much of me’, his raw emotionality imbues the heartsick urgency on “sex,” the woozy desperation on “drugs,” and stark fragility on “and.” On “rock & roll,” EDEN brilliantly merges jagged guitar riffs, heady beats, and feverish meditations on ambition or lack thereof (“I got ten weeks of talking bullshit on repeat ‘til I’m burnt out and disappear”), before the song sweetly dissolves into distorted movie dialogue.
Hailing from Dublin, 20-year-old vocalist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist EDEN releases the official video for his new track ‘Sex’. Click here to watch.
Both the song and the video (which was directed by Toby Morris) follow the dissolution of a young couple’s relationship. The emotions can be heard in the explosive highs with strong instrumentation and vocals followed by the raw, vulnerable lows. The track is taken from EDEN’s upcoming EP titled ‘i think you think too much of me’ out August 19, 2016 and currently available as an instant download when you pre-order the EP on iTunes. In addition, fans can get the new single when they pre-order the EP or a variety of exclusive physical packages from EDEN’s store, here.
Growing up in Dublin, EDEN never truly followed the typical music path. Classically trained from a young age, it wasn’t until he began learning new instruments on his own that he discovered his passion for songwriting. Frustrated with the lack of creative control in bands and orchestral groups, EDEN began to hone his production talents at the age of 16. From the bedroom of his childhood home he began to cultivate a large online following, and establish in his own mind the vision for EDEN’s future.
Utilising a ‘less-is-more’ approach, EDEN emphasises a blend of organic and synthesised instruments to create a unique and visceral sound. He seamlessly blends elements of influences that range from Queen and Skrillex to Kendrick Lamar and Hans Zimmer.
In August 2015, EDEN released his debut EP ‘End Credits’. The free release, which he wrote and produced entirely in his bedroom, has amassed over 30 million cumulative streams to date. As a follow up to the success of End Credits, EDEN made one of his boldest moves yet: releasing his unique cover of Michael Jackson’s ‘Billie Jean’ in November 2015. The cover gained a million cumulative streams in just a week, hitting #1 on HypeM’s popular chart and landing a spot in Spotify’s New Music Friday, demonstrating EDEN’s resonance with his ever-growing fan base.
